Fashion Girls

Sharing the Bounce!

So, Some People have talked to Other People, and I can now share:

I am thrilled to announce that I have sold three more books to Red Dress Ink:

MAGIC AND THE MODERN GIRL (tentative title):  The third volume in the trials and tribulations of librarian-cum-witch, Jane Madison.

THERE'S THE RUB (very tentative title):  The first volume in a new series, SISTERHOOD OF THE FLAME, featuring Kira Franklin, a stage manager who discovers a magic lamp - complete with genie - when she is cleaning out the prop closet at her local theater.  Somehow, Kira never imagined that having wishes *granted* would cause so much chaos in her life!

UNTITLED SECOND SISTERHOOD BOOK (yeah, not even approaching a title):  A sequel to THERE'S THE RUB, showing what happens when one woman shares the magical good, er, bad, er, unpredictable fortune of having a genie in her life.

Publication dates are still a bit up in the air, but MAGIC will likely appear in October 2008 and the sisterhood books some time after that.

(For those keeping score, THERE'S THE RUB was the Super Secret Project mentioned earlier on this journal.)

Mindy, Bounce!  Bounce!  Bounce-ing!

Congrats to you too, of course, but really, we are selfish and care only about ourselves and getting to read what you write.

Goodness! I didn't know you had a livejournal...

I just started reading your Glasswright series. I love the world you've created, and wonder if you're planning on using it again in future books.

I definitely need to get my local library to order the rest of your books.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for writing. Good writers are gems.
And thank YOU for taking the time to brighten my day!

Enjoy the rest of the Glasswright series, and then, when you're ready for something completely different, check out GIRL'S GUIDE TO WITCHCRAFT!

Stop by the blog - early and often!
No problem. I'm working on some writing myself, and trying to get into creative writing MFA programs right now. I'd like to write for young adults, so I read quite a bit of YA literature.

Funniest part about the Glasswright series is I started on Glasswright's Test before realizing it was part of a series. Tonight I plan to read Journeyman. After I've gotten through Master I'll get the library to order Witchcraft.

I actually think I'll friend you, if you don't mind. ^^ You don't have to friend me back, unless you're really interested in reading the boring life of a college student.
And you'll note, I've friended you back :-)

The publishers purposely *don't* put "fourth in a series" on the cover, figuring that lots of folks will read them out of order, in good cheer. I hope that you enjoy the rest of Rani's story!

Best of luck with your MFA applications!

Thanks! ^^ Most of my posts are about everyday life or politics.

That's interesting. I was really happy to discover that there's a whole series, so it was all good.

Thanks again!
