Fashion Girls

Your Title Here

OK, groupmind - I need a name for a made-up porno movie.

It can't really exist.

It has to be clean enough to type in a "family newspaper".

It has to convey immediately to the reader that it's a porno movie.

The title is going to be used in juxtaposition to an art-house movie - for example:  "Bergman's Fanny and Alexander this was not; rather the movie of the day was called YOUR TITLE HERE."

Ideas?  Anyone?  Buehler?

Well, 'Fanny' in British slang doesn't mean quite what I believe it does in US slang, so you're onto a winner even WITH Fanny and Alexander...! ;-)

I'm not being helpful, am I?
LOL - You are always helpful! Of course, the whole notion of a "fanny pack" becomes even more disturbing than the fashion faux pas of that item in the States...
The Asswright's Master?
You are terrible.

Funny. But terrible. :-)
everything I can think of I suspect has already been used as a real porn title (if it's punny, it's been used, according to my Source). hrm. "Fanny and The Panderer?" Plays off the original title, works for readers of a certain vocabulary level, and works twice for those who know UK slang....
You have a Source?!?

I only had IMDB... :-)
I have a Source for almost everything. Result of a misspent adulthood...

(also, a friend who manages a video store)
How about "Alexandra's Fanny"? If It hasn't already been used.
Alas, I've now changed the "high-brow" movie to a "Truffaut retrospective" so punning off of Bergman is now out of the picture...
Well, my sister always joked that the perfect one was a 3-D porno called "Coming At You"
Ach! Now... can I think of a 3-D highbrow film to use as a parallel... :-)
Well, the easiest is to play off of "Debbie Does Dallas." Something like "Fanny Does Chicago" (or "Everybody" or "name-of-person.")
Dial O for Ardor?

This got me to thinking of all sorts of "O" jokes - Operation Multiple O, etc.. Hmmm....
Hmmm... this novel is set in Minneapolis, and it involves a dinner theater (in addition to the porno theater.) There just might be room somewhere for a Thoroughly Modern Millie Does Minneapolis joke...

I like Goldilust and the three leather bears. And oh, yeah, Jack and the big stalk. Definitely like those.

I do *not* want to think about what your Library Director would say if she saw this post :-) How much'll you pay me to keep your identity secret?

Goldilust and Jack were exactly the types of puns I was reaching for!

Steve Royster's suggestion

Hi, Mindy. Long time, and congrats on your latest novel. It sounds really cute... but there's no way I can pull off reading that on the Metro with my masculinity intact!

I thought of you because a classmate in a seminar at the Writer's Center is struggling with a fantasy novel. You still amaze me.

How about "Cock and Awe," or is there no way that's family printable? "Over 300,000,000 Million Served," the tale of a nympho loose in a maternity ward.

Slow Day. Good luck.

Re: Steve Royster's suggestion

Come on, Steve - you can do it! Be a man! Read chick-lit with pride! (Or else, read it behind a fake book cover :-) )

Who's teaching the fantasy course at the Writer's Center these days? Is it still Brenda Clough? I never took one of their novel courses, only one session on short stories, seemingly ages ago!

I like Cock and Awe. If I can work in a military angle, I just might use it :-)

Ahhhh... the power I have to corrupt the legal field in all of DC!

Don't be a stranger!

Re: Steve Royster's suggestion

If you really wanted to go "commando", you could change it to Cock and Load...

Re: Steve Royster's suggestion

Hey, Camera! It took me a while to catch up on posts, but it was great to see your blog (and to catch up on everyone in your family - *how* long has it been?!?) I appreciate very much the post about GIRL'S GUIDE!

For the movie

The Dance of the Absent Vales :)

Re: For the movie

LOL.

At this point, I've decided to go with names based on fairytales - Jack and His Giant Stalk, Goldilust and the Three Bares, etc. (Credit to Moldavite Sofa!) We'll see what survives the final cut!
