Fashion Girls

Yikes!

Well, in an attempt to get my sorry life organized, I tried to track down airfare so that Mark and I could travel together to World Fantasy, in Austin, in November.

At the moment, airfare for 2 will be $840.

Toss in a hotel room for two or three nights, a membership for the con (for me), meals out...  Oddly enough, I hadn't budgeted $1500+ for World Fantasy.

So, alas, at the moment, I'm not planning on going to World Fantasy.  If airfares drop, or if I win the lottery, or if some other basic fact(s) change, then I might be there.  Otherwise, I'll stay home and write :-)

Did you check out Southwest? They fly out of BWI (which may be more of a PITA for you than me) and usually are the best price point. I need to check out what it's going to cost me for ArmadilloCon in August - after I get back from Vancouver.
Sigh - I generally fight, tooth and nail, to avoid BWI. It takes about 1.75 hours to get there from my house (and to get home, of course), and the off-airport parking is horrendous, and everytime I've been there, the security lines have been a minimum of 1.25 hours long. Sigh. I *do* sound like a spoiled brat!

Have a great time in Vancouver!!!
We'll miss you!
I spent hours and hours trying to make frequent flyer miles work, then trying to find something affordable. I even looked at flying in and out of Dallas. As it is, I'll have to stay an extra day to be able to get a cheap enough fare, as Monday at 6 am was cheaper than Sunday at a reasonable hour.
Peak oil prices, here we come...
