Fashion Girls

Book Birthday!

It's that time of year again - another autumn, another Klasky book hitting the market!  This time, it's SORCERY AND THE SINGLE GIRL, the second Jane Madison book, officially released today, September 25.

According to my publisher, there is a shadow of a hint of a possibility of a chance that this book can make an extended national bestseller list if enough people buy it early in its release.  Therefore, if you're thinking about buying SORCERY, could you try to make your purchase during the next week?  (For purposes of calculating lists, purchases from any bookstore count the same as purchases from Amazon.  All things being equal, purchases at brick-and-mortar stores are better for authors because those stores re-order existing books and place orders for future books, based on the exact number that they have already sold.)

Of course, I totally understand that many people do not buy books at all, choosing instead to support their local libraries, or - shock! - being too busy to read fluff on a regular basis.  Many other people are just too busy to get to a store in a set time-frame (and believe me, I understand being too busy!  :-) )  I am truly grateful to everyone who chooses to buy SORCERY!

(For those of you in the DC area - I have not yet scheduled a reading; the stores are being very, um, challenging, and I'm not sure that I'll be able to set anything up this fall.  If I do succeed in scheduling anything, I'll certainly let you know!)

Congratulations :) It's so exciting, but I bet you're over the moon :).

Are you already working on another SORCERY book?

I've got the first one on its way, and this new one is on order. They look so cute! And smart and funny, of course, but I'm sure I'll like them. I always think there's room for fluff :D

I can hardly believe that the stores are being stinkers about letting you schedule a reading. I thought that was part of what they did to attract customers?!

Hooray! Time to go pick up Sorcery!

Record a reading on your computer. Save it as an MP3 file. Then all your loyal online fans can listen to you!

I bought my book and am reading it. I really like it so far. Yay!
Congrats!!

Soooo not surprising. My publicist hasn't been able to schedule much of anything in the larger stores in the area, although I do have some satellite stores in October (Borders Express and Waldenbook types). Sigh.
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since I already read it, I can say that I loved it. I can only hope that many many more people find it awesome as well.
Good luck, book!! Hit the shelves running!
You go gyrl! :) I hope you do really well, and *hint* if you go on over to my blog there's a surprise waiting for ya.
i'm planning on buying it today, but if not then by the weekend the latest. :)
I've got mine on order at the local Borders, though the big stores (Borders, Waldenbooks, Barnes&Nobles) in the area aren't supposed to be getting it in until October 1st...

Hi Mindy, I just found your blog and am looking forward to reading it :-) I'm a public librarian in Ohio, and I loved your first Red Dress Ink book. I've had the new one on order for the library for a few months, and I can't wait to get it!

The nearest brick-and-mortar bookstore to me is now forty minutes away and they are really bad about getting things on time. (I complained about this to someone who lives in my town last time I had difficulty getting a book release week and she was like, "Yeah, and the manager there's an idiot. Drive to this other place an hour in the oppisite direction." ::sigh::)

BUT, I do amazon all the time and they shipped your book yesterday, so it should get here tomorrow! ::g::
Congratulations! *throws confetti*
Finally! Now maybe my Amazon order will ship!

*pokes Amazon with a sharp stick*

Go and buy this book! I only got it yesterday and I'm racing through it. I'm going to hunt up a copy of Girl's Guide to Witchcraft next, because I HAVE to know how this story got started :)
Congrats Doll! I will definately try to buy the book as soon as possible ;)

I can't wait to read it!
Woohoo! According to the Chapters Indigo website, mine's been shipped! Hopefully it'll arrive sooner than my last order did.
Found the site via jim's interview. The books look very scintillating. :>) I'll have to give them a try. Congrats on the latest being out!
It appears that my local B&N stocked the books early, so I was able to read it on Friday. It was great! Good job!
I bought it today, as promised, on my way to work. I'm so excited to start reading it!
Let me konw if you do a signing locally (I live in alexandria va)

I'd love to get a signed copy of it from you.

All things being equal, purchases at brick-and-mortar stores are better ...

Looks like it's on the move at MG already!

When are you coming to San Diego??!! :)
Finally picked up a copy today - I'm looking forward to it! I've also sent a note to my coworker who loved the first book. She's been hounding me about when it would be available.

Congratulations again!

Bought the book :D

Bought the book yesterday afternoon, and finished it this morning. (Yes, I am an avid consumer of books)

FYI, liked it very much. Wish I had a house with a cool basement and a familiar :/
