SORCERY - Eight Days and Counting!

SORCERY AND THE SINGLE GIRL will be in bookstores on September 25!  SORCERY is my second book about Jane Madison, a librarian who finds out that she's a witch.  Jane attempts to balance her job, her love life, and her desperate attempts to join the most prestigious coven on the Eastern seaboard.

According to my editor, there is a *chance* that I can make a national bestseller list with this book IF enough people buy the book very early in its release.  (Enough copies have been printed, and the distribution should be in place...)  Therefore, if you are at all inclined to buy the book, could you consider making your purchase on September 25?

Also, I am going to follow up on last year's successful Virtual Book Tour for GIRL'S GUIDE TO WITCHCRAFT with a new tour for SORCERY AND THE SINGLE GIRL.  I would be happy to answer up to five questions about the book, writing, publishing, or just about anything else, if you will post my answers on your blog or website on or around September 25!  Please email your questions to me with the subject Virtual Book Tour at mindy@mindyklasky.com.

Anyone who posts answers for my Virtual Book Tour will be entered into a drawing for a gift bag containing a signed copy of SORCERY, some pewter witchcraft charms, notecards, etc.  Also, anyone who emails me a photo of SORCERY in a bookstore will receive a signed cover flat (a cardstock version of the full-color cover), along with a set of tiny pewter witchcraft charms!  Finally, you can enter a drawing for a signed copy of SORCERY by entering this month's contest on my blog: www.mindyklasky.com/contest.html

Thanks to all of you for your constant support! (And please feel free to distribute this message as widely as you'd like!)

Mindy, psyched for the official launch

Amazon

If I order it from Amazon today, they will ship it when it becomes available. Would that count to your sales or do I need to go into a bookstore on the 25th for it to count?
Thanks.

Re: Amazon

Amazon sales (US) count! Amazon currently says that the book is available 10/1 - they'll likely ship earlier, when they receive their stock. (With GIRL'S GUIDE, Amazon shipped before the last-Tuesday-in-September release date!)

Thanks!
oh, I forgot to include you in my pimp post last night! will pimp some more tonight.
Merci!
Well, I ordered it for my library last month.

I go to the bookstore on Monday, so I shan't get my personal copy until the Monday after release, though.
I didn't realize you are a librarian! And thanks, re the personal copy!
Mindy, I'll be delighted to buy your book on September 25. I'll pick it up at the bookstore on my way to the theatre that day, and mention it on the blog.

I'll send you some questions for the Virtual Book Tour this week. The interview itself will go up on Biblio Paradise, but will be linked on Ink in My Coffee (the main writing blog) and mentioned on the LiveJournal Blog Wordish Wanderings and on the MySpace Devon Ellington blog.

I am SO excited for this release -- I've been eager for it since I read the first one!
Many, many thanks, o woman of many, many blogs!
The 25th could be dicey. Do Amazon orders count? I could pre-order now.

Any date for a reading yet?
Amazon orders totally count (when they're made from Amazon U.S.) - but don't drive yourself nuts on my account!

As for a date for the reading - grrrrr.... I have had a very difficult time connecting up with Borders. My old contact no longer works there, and I'm being given the run-around. When I'm back in town next week, I'm going to go into other stores (the downtown ones near Metro Center) and try to set things up at either Borders or B&N there (or both!)

I wrote about Sorcery and The Single Girl on my latest post. I'm actually a bit confused because B&N says your book is available to order but it's still not the 25th. I've heard of a few stores actually selling certain books before the published date and I'm hoping if I go by B&N I'll find a copy which I know it's highly unlikely but I can hope.

I'm so buying your book on the 25th, no doubt about it and I'll take a picture and email it to you! :)

Also if I can think of some questions, I'll post them up on my LJ on the 25th, too. And of course, email them to you.

The stores are given a round date (e.g. Oct 1), but the book is released the Tuesday before that date. Most stores don't update their computers to cover the actual date, even once it's set. SORCERY will likely be sitting in a back room if it's not out on the shelves on 9/25!

(Thanks for the effort - and I look forward to your questions!)
Do Canadian purchases count?
Canadian purchases always count - in the big scheme (my finding great new readers!) Alas, they don't count toward the US bestseller lists...

Many, many thanks though!
It's already been pre-ordered from Chapters Indigo. I don't know if that's any help.
Every 'buy' is a help :-) Thanks for the pre-order!
Thanks for writing the book. :D

I think I've got the buy it on 9/25 covered. I tried ordering it, but they told me that they couldn't. So I went in and hassled the manager, and he promised to put my name on a copy when they came in... I'll see if I can get you a photo.

Thanks! I really appreciate your taking the time - *especially* when it involved dealing with a manager in person!
